New Year’s Resolutions
Ok, so it’s 4th January but here goes:
1. Get married. This should be pretty easy to fulfill, what with being engaged and the wedding booked and all, so nice to get something easily achievable.
2. Finish more songs. Previous years have probably had “write more songs” as a resolution, but I realised recently that I write loads of stuff that I either forget or just get bored of before it’s even finished - that might just be some sort of internal quality control thing, or it might be laziness. Either way, 2012 will be a “write first, ask questions later” kind of year.
3. Learn to use my loop pedals properly. And by “properly”, I really mean “to make horrible dirty noise” and not “to start sounding like every other fucker who uses one of these potentially magical, but often in practice boring, contraptions”. I have two now, one for guitar and one for voice. I may end up using the voice one just to make silly noises though…
4. Record stuff. See #2 really.
5. Exercise. I generally don’t do too badly on this front, but more exercise wouldn’t hurt. Actually it would hurt, it’s exercise, but once I get used to it things will be amazing. This is in no way an indication that I care about the Olympics.
